Subconscious
The itsy bitsy spider walked slowly down the hill
Pens and books in bag, she was feeling slightly ill
School was starting soon, and she was void of all such cheer
And she wanted more than ever to be a sanitation engineer
School has begun again. So far, it actually hasn't been terrible. I'm wary saying that, because as soon as I start thinking my classes aren't so bad, then our teachers start speaking in Greek, giving us homework questions that should be outlawed in the civilized world.
But in one of our classes, math logic, we actually learned English grammar. I was beaming the whole class. I never imagined we'd learn about compound vs. simple sentences in a class called math logic. It was one of the greatest moments of my college career (which isn't saying much, considering my college career so far).
So Sunday was our first day of school. But something else happened on Sunday. My friend, Adina, and I made a siyum on Nach. It was all very special. It was our own mini Simchas Torah. We finished off Divrei Hayamim and began with Bereishis. It was so cool how it all worked out: we started Bereishis on the Shabbos of Bereishis. So that was so many excitings!
Yesterday was Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan. I went to neitz at the churva with Faeven. It was stunning. There was this little boy--he must have been about 10--who was singing the whole time, and it was so pure. I want to have little Israeli boys who sing in their little off-key Israeli accents.
Yesterday was also Rut's birdfday. So we got together with her, and we all went to Gan Sacher, where we counted how many dates we saw and guessed which date each couple was on. We're so mature.
We also talked and hung out and played rummikub. It was all super cute.
Going back to Shabbos, I was in Ramois with my cousins. For the first time ever, my little cousins liked me. I think it was because they actually recognized my face. So I played with them a lot, went on a lovely walk to the park, and just enjoyed Shabbos. I learned how to say subconscious in Hebrew, which will definitely help me in my quest to learn how to speak basic Hebrew.
Motzei Shabbos, I actually walked from Ramois to the kotel, which was such a nice walk.
And now, I'm sitting in a class and ignoring every word that the teacher is saying. He he he. I love being done with school on our literal third day. Does not bode well for the rest of the semester.
Hope all of you are doing well.
Toodles from Hoodles!
