Subconscious

The itsy bitsy spider walked slowly down the hill Pens and books in bag, she was feeling slightly ill School was starting soon, and she was void of all such cheer And she wanted more than ever to be a sanitation engineer School has begun again. So far, it actually hasn't been terrible. I'm wary saying that, because as soon as I start thinking my classes aren't so bad, then our teachers start speaking in Greek, giving us homework questions that should be outlawed in the civilized world.  But in one of our classes, math logic, we actually learned English grammar. I was beaming the whole class. I never imagined we'd learn about compound vs. simple sentences in a class called math logic. It was one of the greatest moments of my college career (which isn't saying much, considering my college career so far).  So Sunday was our first day of school. But something else happened on Sunday. My friend, Adina, and I made a siyum on Nach. It was all very special. It was our own m...

Diamond Rings

Image
I am writing this blog when I should be doing anything but. You see, I have a final on Friday, and I kind of skipped the last five classes, and I don't really know what the first seven classes were talking about, but I don't even care at this point.  And there are so many more important things to do right now, like tell you all about my week. First and foremost, Strange Snippets. We've got some good ones this week.  "You make this sukkah pasul when you're in it." This was said to a child who was crying for like 30-minutes straight for absolutely no reason at all. My friend and I cracked up when we heard this.  Speaking of friends, one "friend" said to me at a meal, "You know, I don't want your kids to be negative influences on my kids." How rude! So what if my kids steal diamond rings by the time they're old enough to walk? So what if my kids crash into their school buildings? So what if my kids get sent to the office on the second ...

Nonsensical Silliness

Apparently, my genius masterpiece that was last week's post was grossly misunderstood. And since, "The best writers understand their audiences," someone important probably once said, (and because I have no clue why everyone is so confused), I have decided to hold another one of my (in)famous polls.  I am a hudiintheholyland reader and a) I was not confused by Hudi's post last week at all. It was very clear to me that she leaned on her keyboard (while reaching over to silence her ringing phone without checking to see who it was) and accidentally changed the colors and fonts on her blog post. Besides for that, it was a normal post. b) I was very confused by Hudi's post last week, but I usually am, as I cannot read. c) I was not confused by Hudi's post last week, as I am fully aware of Hudi's EOOPS(pronounced oops; the 'e' is silent)  and mono. d) I was not confused by Hudi's blog post, because it CLEARLY SHOWED IN THE TOP LEFT HAND CORNER OF THE ...

Beginning Again

September 28, 2021    October 6, 2022 Hello, my dear friends and family.  'Tis Hudicus Barticus, Hudles, Hoodie, or whatever else I may be called. And I am doing fabulously well, thanks for asking.  As you can tell from the title, I'm in bidud (quarant eeee n—that's for you, Abba) right now, which is why I have time to write this blog post. But bidud isn't so bad, Baruch Hashem. For one, I'm used to it. This is my fifth time in bidud, I believe. I'm a pro at this thing.  Also, I'm (still) kind of antisocial sometimes,  so not being allowed to see anyone is just my cup of tea. Speaking of tea, I had this delicious tea on Yom Tov(that's for you, tea-timing madrichot). Sorry for the non-sequitur.  Moving on...the plane ride was pretty good. I slept for most of it, thank the good Lord.  Holy Story Time: At the very end of the plane ride, right before we started landing, I saw a man going around the cabin with a lulav and esrog and kippa in hand...
