Steinsy-Widthdrawal

Have you ever started making a mocha cake and then realize that you have barely any coffee for the job? Makes for one awkward mocha cake. Mine came out like a chocolate cake that was trying way too hard to be coffee-like.

Anywho, baking in a state-of-the-art kitchen with no measuring cups, mixers, or any other very normal thing that people have in their houses was quite a fun experience.

Avigayil and I baked a cake for Avigial's birthday, and we had to make it yummy and pretty because Avigial is literally a gourmet chef. Then, Avigayil, Shifra, and I "surprised" Avigial on Monday night with the cake. We then spent awhile schmoozing, reminiscing about seminary, eating the not-so-mocha mocha cake, and laughing a whole lot. So that was super cute.

On the way back from Avigial's house, the bus stopped at a certain point, some boys got on the bus, and then they went to the next door of the bus and got off before it drove away from the stop. That was hilarious.

This past week has been a blend of hilarity and seriosity (I don't know why that's not a word, but now it is). On Thursday night, Adina (that's my British friend who teaches me how to be a better person. We learn mussar together.) and I went to Sephardi Selichos at the kois. They started at 12:30 and finished sometime between 1:30 and 2. The sheer numbers of people there...wow. And they weren't all wearing black hats. It was incredible.

And then, by the time they finished, the buses had stopped running (or so we thought). So Adina and I began the trek back to my apartment. We made it more than 80% of the way back before we realized that certain buses were still running. And you better believe we took one of those.

For Shabbos, I went to the Steinsies!!! It had been over two months since I last saw those wonderful peeps, and I had some serious Steinsy-withdrawal. But I think Shabbos cured me of that, for we spent lots of hours cracking up, talking seriously, and just having the greatest time. We spoke much about HaKallah Hakedoisha. (I just had to put that in to annoy Malta. Even 6,000 miles away, I still take my job as an annoying younger sister very seriously.)

Shabbos at the Steinsies consisted of much laughter from How Stupidly Smart Can You Act, where Mr. Stein got the topic of ballet. And after the meal, the laughter continued when I convinced the OPS-ridden people to walk in a straight line. As YAS (that's young and stupid, remember), I have perfect balance. And they...well, let's just say they don't.

Shabbos day, a friend of Mrs. Stein came by, which was all super cute. So a very nice Shabbos, baruch Hashem.

And then it was back to school. We learned very interesting things about passwords this week in cybersecurity. It's super awkward when you see the 100 most used passwords, and your passwords for your bank and government info are number 1 and 2. Just kidding. But please don't use 123456 as your password. It's a dumb idea, even for proud YAS people like me.

And then we had to hack passwords in one of our labs, which was so cool.

The construction this week has been annoying. I need to move up my sabotage plans.

So, that's pretty much all. If anyone has any sabotage plans that will not land me in jail, please inform me as soon as humanly possible. And if they do land me in jail, well just visit me once or twice. And maybe bring a cake. And if it happens to be mocha, well, make sure you have coffee before beginning the baking process.

Toodles from Hoodles!
