Back in Bidud

Hullo, there. 'Tis the sicko in quaranteeeen (that's for you, Abba). As of now, I'm only in bidud because one of my dira mates tested positive. And because I want an excuse to be antisocial. And because I have much homework that needs to be done. So, now is the perfect time to do it.

So, what has been going on my life? Good question, Augustus!

Honestly, not much. Let's see. Shabbos was really cute. I went to Avigial D's house for Shabbos with Avigayil A. Her parents went away for Shabbos, so it was just us three girlsies. We cooked all the food--and by we, I mean Avigial D--for the entire Shabbos. On Friday night, we went to Rabbi Zucker's shul, which had such a beautiful Kabbalas Shabbos. And then we went back to eat some gourmet food. For all those who don't know, Avigial D. is a gourmet chef.

Obviously, we discussed some books, some Torah topics, talked about dating, sang, and just had a really great time. We went to sleep pretty late, but that's to be expected, isn't it?

And then Shabbos day came, which was equally as nice as the night before.

All through Shabbos, Avigayil A. and I kept on singing Yerav by Shloime Dachs because that's the song to the Gush dance. And clearly, that was what was going through our minds. We've decided to learn the Gush dance and do it at our weddings. Sounds like a solid plan.

'Twas a sad moment when Shabbos was over. Fortunately, we heard havdalah at one of Avigial D's neighbors, who is chassidish, so they made havdalah quite late. I got to enjoy more moments of not doing homework or stressing about imminent finals.

I thought this week would be a regular one. I could not have been more wrong.

The fun started on Sunday. Two of my friends were in contact with people who tested positive for the Coroina Vy-rus. And so they were in bidud.

It could be that I did something stupid then. I might have hugged them. I just felt so bad for them that they had to be in bidud. Looking back, not my brightest moment.

And then, on Tuesday, it happened. One of those two girls tested positive. And so now, I was in bidud.

Except of course, I wasn't, because I needed to go outside to get tested. (Insert the funny video about the woman who's explaining the rules of coroina: "You must not go outside, unless of course you need to, and then you may go outside.") So, that was an adventure, waiting an hour and some minutes to get a swab stuck in my mouth and up my nose.

And then began the waiting period, which hasn't ended yet. I still don't know my results. Hopefully, by tomorrow I will know. Otherwise, I'm not sure what's going to happen with Shabbos.

But, bidud is awesome. All the classes are on Zoom, and I just have ample time to do homework...and more homework...and maybe even some more homework.

So, it's just been four of us in the dira. Shana Aleph has been our resident cook. We've eaten dinner together on the floor each night, even though we have tables. We listen to music, play games, and just enjoy the peace and quiet (when I'm not hacking and coughing up a storm). What a lovely week it has been, sans my stupid cold. Which may or may not be coroina.

Last night, Shana and I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning, playing cribbage and chinese poker. So that was fun.

I finally finished my dumb website on humanoid robots. Yeah!!!

And now, I'm going to study for finals. But never fear, because I have the most wonderful food in the world: chocolate twizzlers.

I hope you all have a wonderful Shabbos.

Toodles from Hoodles!
