Crazy Pyromaniacs
Hullo, all. I'm so many sorries that I am late yet again with my blog post. I guess I just wanted to teach you all the valuable lesson of learning to deal with disappointment. Because I am sure you all were extremely sad to check my blog website and not see a new update. You must have all cried yourselves to sleep last night. Dear me. What an awful, terrible, no-good, very bad person I am.
After that heartfelt introduction, I'm going to now regale you all with stories from my interesting life.
First and foremost, I had my digital systems midterm on Friday, which just happened to be my birfday. What a nice birfday present. I actually think I didn't fail. I think it went okay. Baruch Hashem.
My friends from digital systems' class and I made a rap. I would love to post it here, but that would be highly inappropriate and awkward. Nisht approps, as my brother Barrel would so aptly say. All you need to know is that the rap went something like this: "0000, 0001, 0010, 0011..." Rinse and repeat up until "1110, 1111." And then imagine a bunch of overtired, hyper girls burst out laughing like hyenas on steroids. That was our rap. We made it very late. It was probably 1 am at the time. Maybe 2 am. Maybe even 3 am. We were on vacation. Don't judge us.
Speaking of vacation, it has been wonderful.
Two of my friends came in from America on Wednesday, which was very many cutes. They came over to my dorms for Shabbos. I made soup and apple kugel and sweet potatoes. They kind of came out edible. We didn't get food poisoning, at least. And no one threw up. So I guess it was a success.
Shabbos was a wonderful experience. Spending time with my friends was so nice. We stayed up talking and hocking and not getting enough sleep. And then on Motzei Shabbos, we went to the Kotel. On Sunday, we went to Geulah. Bought some books at Manny's that I wasn't planning on buying. Nu, that's life.
Unfortunately, my friends had to leave on Monday, but I got to spend much quality time with them. And I didn't even cry that much as they left.
Sunday night began the holiday of the lights. In some religions, we call it Chanukah. The whole dorms gathered around outside right in front of our building, armed with matches and candles. We looked like crazy pyromaniacs or a mad cult or seriously deranged individuals. Or all of the above.
After lighting, my very talented friend played some guitar as we told over the story of Chanukah and sang some songs. It was a very peaceful scene. And then we all danced around like dorks. It was such a nice first night of Chanukah.
Then we all went into the dorms to eat some dinner. Afterwards, we went to Geulah to get some donuts. Every time we passed a menorah--and we passed a lot--we said something we were thankful for. And then we came back and spent hours doing a puzzle. Yes, our first vacation this year and we spent it doing puzzles. We are nerds.
On Monday, I went to the zoo. Obviously, it wasn't as cool as an aquarium because there were no sharks, but it was still nice. And it was a beautiful day. Saw some elephants, giraffes, monkeys, lions, and more.
So, Chanukah has been a very nice addition to my life. I approve of the Rabbanim who instituted it.
Yesterday, I went to the Steinsies. They are very nice people who for some reason like me. I'm still at their house. Last night, we practiced some Hebrew, ate monster donuts, stayed up watching some six13 music videos, and talked about my imminent wedding.
Today was a rainy day. I made some chocolate chip cookies and challah. And ignored all the work that I have to do. He he he. What a good life.
Pictured below are some of the cookies that I made. They don't look inedible.
I'm hoping to do a donut tour one of these days. I'm also planning on going to neitz at the Churva shul on Friday or Sunday morning. We shall see what will be. My mono might get in the way of that.
Well, I guess that's all for now. Hope you all have a chag sameach.
Toodles from Hoodles!
