CKU

Once upon a time, there lived a Hoodie. It led a peaceful life. It lived in a small room across the hall from a very loud, annoying apartment. But it was happy and carefree, with not a care in the world save for one terrible situation: Cal-Kill-Us. For the point of this story, we will call it CKU.  CKU was the bane of this Hoodie's existence. Anytime it was happy for any reason, CKU came to ruin all that goodness. If Hoodie had had a great day, then CKU would suddenly appear to make that day not great again.  And Hoodie did not live happily ever after.  Wow. That fairy tale warmed my heart. We should add it to Grimm's.  So, if any of you did not understand the moral of the story, then I question your intelligence.  So, let's discuss CKU no further, for it makes me want to kill something...or someone. Like Isaac Newton. I wish that apple had hit him harder, sometimes. But not too hard, because that would be mean and spiteful.  So, school has begun again, and...

Dancing with Shloims

I took my last final. Probably nailed it. Or failed it. Difference of one letter. Take your pick.  So, it's been a week. Much has happened during these past days. I don't even remember all of it. Must be my early OPS showing up.  So, we left off last week with Sarah Leeeeeah coming to the Holy Land to see me. And what a trip it was. She actually stayed in my dorms. Shhh. Don't tell my aim bayit. I'm pretty sure it's illegal. It's a good thing she'll never read this. Otherwise, I might be homeless.  So, Wednesday was busy. I went shopping, went to work (my last day, actually), and studied. 'Twas a lovely day.  Thursday was spent studying, dancing with Shloims, learning, and crying about how much studying I need to do but don't want to do and where are all of my chocolate twizzlers and I think I know this except I don't think I do, and it was very unpleasant for everyone involved.  But, the saving grace was Shabbos. For I couldn't study on Shab...

Mountain Goat

Dearest family and friends,  I became a mountain goat this past week. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be a mountain goat, then I can let you know. For on Tuesday, I climbed a mountain. Not a little, wannabe mountainish hill. An actual mountain, with jutting out rocks and a barely there trail. It was so hard, yet so rewarding.  It was Adina's idea to be mountain goats, and Aliza and I were dragged along for the ride. Aliza did the entire hike in rainboots. That just proves that anything is possible.  We woke up early in the morning to begin out treacherous journey down to Nachal Boqeq. It was a beautiful day--cool with just the right amount of sun--to die. And die we did. Well, I did. I don't know where the other two got their energy from, scampering up rocks and boulders like they had hooves for feet.  There was lots of crying (from me) and panting and drinking water and reminding Aliza to drink water and almost giving up. But we didn't give u...
